PROVERBS 18: 21
" Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
We have been always hearing this almost in every Christian meetings, sermons, from a Man/ Woman of God and it's found in many places even in the Bible. We speak a lot of things everyday, at home, at school, at our work area, in the market, almost everywhere that we can possibly go or be at. And who in the world has time to think what to speak out of the mouth.
But hold on, did we ever try to think and find out what God wants us to speak, how to speak, when and where to speak? In this area almost all of us are very weak because seldom we meditate and bring out words of wisdom and understanding, words that would grace others, words that are spirit and life just as the Lord said so that people who are around us can actually be blessed, be healed, be delivered just by the way we would use our mouths effectively.
God has given us everything for His purpose, for His Kingdom and even the mouth for His works. But what are we doing? We speak careless words and since words have power to create what we speak, we find ourselves in the same condition and situation that we have brought forth from our tongue.
God created everything by the power of His words. And He had given the same power to each one of us . We can create life or death, depending on what and how we choose to speak and the same things will start manifesting in our lives. For example, if we are always talking about death and destruction, very soon we'll see the spirit of death hovering over us and things even people in our lives or around us dying, decaying and destroying.
Because we are creating those things by the power deposited by God in our tongues .
Innumerable servants of God can pray for us and speak out blessings but if we are not willing to change and control our tongue, blessings can't manifest . We speak words of jealousy, anger, bitterness, evil, hatred and then wonder why the LORD is not blessing us. How can he possibly bless us, when we are breaking His commandment by our foolishness?
All of us who know the Word of God, know very well that it prohibits us from speaking negative and evil. Nevertheless, we do what we want to.
Contrary to this, the moment we start declaring and decreeing what God says in His word, the first thing that happens is, we ourselves get rejuvenated because the Word of God is light and sword both, and whosever makes it your weapon starts getting delivered from unseen things that might be surrounding us.
We need to be considerate about others who are around us, they might not know as much Bible as we know, but just by speaking and declarations we can shift the atmosphere and environment and be a blessing to many. Words are spiritual. They can attract either the Holy Spirit and Angels and they can also attract the demonic spirits .
Words are like a seed sown in the soil .Now when the tree will come into it's fullness ,and it's time to bear fruit, it's at that time only we'd understand what did we sow ? A good seed or a bad seed. For we all know a good seed would never give a bad fruit. Neither a bad seed, a good fruit. If God has never spoken a negative or evil word about us or His creation, rather called everything " good" and if we dare to call ourselves His children, then we must also follow in His footsteps. In simple words, what we speak we attract from the spirit realm and that will manifest. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to even control our mouths so that the power deposited in our tongue can be used to manifest every blessings that belongs to us.
PRAYER:
Father help us to use our tongues effectively to bring forth blessings, just as you created everything from the power of your words and the manifested it. Holy Spirit take control over our words so we create and manifest those things that we want to see taking place in our lives and that of others . Father give us knowledge and wisdom to speak out what is needed, and indeed to not speak in haste . Help us to understand the value and essence of words, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
