Restraint means a measure or condition that keeps someone under control.
If one sees the life of Jesus, it is noticed that He never performed miracles to please people but it was always at his Father's permission that He moved.
From the beginning of JESUS' ministry till his death on the cross, Jesus was made the object of being taunted, mocked & tested by His opponents. Jesus could have silenced them, by using His authority as the son of God, call upon His Father to display divine miracles signs and wonders, but He refused to work outside the will of God.
Jesus refused to give signs or perform miracles on demand to prove His authority or to entertain. God performs miracles according to his will and not according to a persons wants or demands.
HEBREWS 2:4
God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
In submitting to the authority of his Father, Jesus understood this and exercised restraint. Jesus being the Son of God could have lived an easy life; cause He was the Son of the living God but He exercised restraint against physical needs such as hunger.
Prayer: Father God may we learn to live our lives as Jesus, may we receive Power to restrain every temptation ,that comes our way, may we remember how Jesus walked in wisdom ,stature and understanding and follow His footsteps in Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen , Amen and Amen.
