2 Kings 13:14-19 NKJV
14 Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” 15 And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. 16 Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. 17 And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.” 18 Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped. 19 And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”
We see Elijah being sick on bed with an illness leading to death, however even in that illness he was super sharp in the Prophetic. This is the power of the prophetic. Being on his deathbed he could still fight someone’s enemy; he could still prophesy too deep. King Joash he was not some ordinary person, he knew even though I am a king there is one out here who is a true Prophet that when he speaks, he can shift dimensions in the spirit & one word from this Man of God can make an impossible situation possible.
King Joab knew the power of the word of a problem & came quickly for a solution.
Elisha said to him take a bow and some arrows no matter so he took himself bows and arrows and then he said to the king of Israel put your hand on the bow so he put his hand on it and Elisha put his hand on the king's hand
and he said open the East window and shoot and when he shot,
Elisha said the Lord's
Deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria.
Understand one thing Elisha didn’t shoot the arrow but it’s the King of Israel who had to shoot the arrow & Elisha backed him up by putting his hand on the hand of Joab.
Many Christians lose their battles because they expect their Pastors or Prophets to fight their battles & the consequences are they are attacked by the enemy. Prophets are the one who will show you the way & teach you how to fight your battles & as long as you obey them you will always win every battle in your life. King Joab had to come against the army of Syria but he didn’t have a strategy to fight the enemy. Lack of strategy will make you lose every spiritual battle in your life. A true Prophet of God is a reservoir of strategy.
So, when you connect with your Prophet of God, you can make a withdrawal of strategies that are in the reservoir of your prophet. In the days of Elisha, he was not the only prophet however the King of Israel knew I need to have my own personal prophet who will guide my & lead me to the destiny that the Lord has for me.
We see Prophet Elisha instructing King Joab to strike the ground & King Joab strikes only three times & Elisha gets angry & tells him you should have striked five to six times more then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it. Many believers strike the enemy but they forget to understand that you need to strike the enemy till you completely destroy it. Understand one thing that the enemy is very stubborn & persistent so how much more should you be stubborn & persistent about destroying the enemy.
King Joab striked the ground only three times & won his battle only three times but he didn’t destroy the Syrian army completely. Never leave your enemy half wounded because if you don’t kill them, they will come back against you in much power & strength to destroy you. You strike the enemy from the place of being seated and co-seated & being positioned with Christ in heavenly places.
Why did Elisha ask him to strike the ground rather than going to the Syrian camp & destroying them? Earth is an element & the enemy had taken control over the land & as long as the enemy has taken control over the land, the king of Israel could never win the battle. Before you confront the enemy, destroy the power of the enemy over the land & take back the land.
When a prophet of God decrees or makes a proclamation, they make it from a place of power & authority, a place where no enemy can monitor or come against them. When a Prophet of God strikes, its “CHECKMATE”. When you have your own Prophet whom you are submitted to & walk in complete obedience, you are living a life of total victory!!!
