MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS - SEER ROSHAN

Writer's picture: Prophetess RhemaProphetess Rhema

1 Thessalonians 4: 11

“that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.” (NKJV)

To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands as we charged you.”(AMPC)

Apostle Paul’s writings in this epistle to the Christians of Thessalonica, teaches us something profound and which can be  applied to our daily lives making it very necessary. If the Bible commands us, than we really need to obey it without doubting. As living in the world, we have adapted more of the ways of it in us.

We are much troubled in this generation, not only because of what we are going through but also carrying the unwanted luggage that does not belongs to us. Though we want to live a burden free life but unfortunately we are entangled in someway or the other by involving ourselves in it.

Why does Apostle Paul say we should mind our own business, but the latter cannot come without the former. As the verse says, live a quiet and a peaceful life, followed by minding your own business or affairs. You cannot mind your own affair if you are not a person who lives a quiet / peaceful life. Now quietness does not mean complete silence, that’s not what it is but understanding it that you are not permitted to intervene into many matters of life that is directly or directly connected with you.

For instance – in your relative, a young girl is in love with a boy who is not a Christian, now the whole family disapproves this relationship but the girl wants to marry him at any cost, irrespective of all odds, culture, future or what may come. Somewhere or the other you know it is not the will of God, but because you also know that your advice in this situation will be of no use or will fall on deaf ears, the best thing you do is only pray about it and do not allow yourself to get actively involved in it, saving your own time and energy.

The Book of Lamentations 3:26 says, “It is good to wait quiet for the salvation of the Lord.”(ESV)

You are supposed to pray for all things and everything rather than getting connected with it physically and wasting your time if it is not in your reach.

Prayer – Lord, give me Your Wisdom to handle the situations in and around my life in Jesus name, Amen.
