COMPROMISE - SEER ROSHAN

1 John 2:15 “Do not love and cherish the world or the things that are in the world.”

The Oxford Learner’s Dictionary defines the word ‘compromise’ as - to do something that is against your principles or does not reach standards that you have set.

Somewhere in our lives we have compromised in life many a times, to please someone or to please ourself. The Book of Genesis reveals how man compromised with God’s command and sinned against Him, only to invite the wrath of God and losing the authority that was given to him by default. The people of the world have always compromised to settle things in life, but even we as Christians have tried to settle many things in life, out of compromise.

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man that He should lie; Neither the son of man that he should repent.

Isaiah 66:9 “Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? Says the Lord.

What are the above two verses trying to tell us ? Isn’t that if the Lord has spoken He will surely bring it to pass and He is a God who cannot lie. If He has promised to bless us, surely He will perform it in His time. We have been concerned about the society around us and what will be their response, if we react to anything that is not compatible with their thinking.

You need to know as the above verse declares that if the Lord blesses a woman with a gift of child, would He not bring her to the point of delivery.

Let there be no fear in whatever we do, until and unless its right in the eyes of God, even though man would at times not agree with it.

The Lord says in Isaiah 55 : 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways.”

We compromise, for we neither understand His thoughts nor His ways and reason is because we do not trust Him, and we do not know His Word. Look at Judas’ life, being so closely associated with Jesus, compromised for money (thirty pieces of silver) destroying his eternal destiny. Some people are too loyal when it comes to their friendship, they will go to any heights and see to it that their friends are not hurted or heart broken. I have attended many Christian weddings in the past, and I observed that though the family members never consumed alcohol but for the sake of people invited they had arranged for best alcohol. Have they even wondered once, what would be the position of God’s heart when this people who pray, fast, read the Word have broken God’s heart and compromised in a very pathetic manner.

Do you remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven.

Prayer :-

Father, in the name of Jesus, may I never compromise in situation which challenges me but rather stand for the truth and hold on to my eternal destiny in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
