Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."
What are you thinking in your heart ? You can deceive people around you but you will never deceive your own-self, as you already know what you are thinking whether good or bad.
1 Corinthians 6:19 "Or do you not know, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and you are not your own"
We have always been victims of pollution whether physical which affects health and spiritual which affects our relationship with God. Here we emphasize on the latter one, why is it that the enemy is after the things of God to be destroyed ? He started at the Garden of Eden, but has continued his wickedness even to the present world. The glamour of this world is so mesmerising that we are easily attracted towards it, knowing nothing that it has already polluted us, making us spiritually deaf, dumb and lame.
Matthew 5:28 " But I (Jesus) say to you that whoever looks at a women to lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart".
You read the above verse, Jesus warns us about lust 2000 years back when there was no glittering glamour the way we have it now in today's time. A man only looking at a woman through the eyes of lust has already committed sin, without touching her or forcing her. The eyes, mind, soul, imagination has been polluted without any physical activity.
For eg:- Your riding on a two wheeler vehicle as a pillion and enjoying the journey, but along with the rider even you cannot escape the traffic and pollution. You become a victim of it too by default though you're not driving or riding it.
Likewise, even if we are not physical doing any such acts, but by default a thought, a word, an action can bring the equal effects of sin in our lives if ignored. Why do you think God got angry with Adam and Eve, just because they ate the fruit? Will you scold your child if he / she eats a fruit kept in the fridge without your permission? Many of you will answer me - No.
It was not about the fruit to God, but Adam and Eve had deceived their ownself by lusting for it and polluting themselves including their eyes and soul which bought a separation.
The enemy wants the children of God to be polluted in every way, so that they are separated from the presence of God and become his victims of slavery and destruction. But this can be averted when you distance from the things and ways of world and come closer to God.
Prayer - Give me grace O Lord, that I will deny the works of flesh in my life and help me to walk in your light in Jesus name, Amen
